Here is a list of the individuals that will be at the Fall Festival
scheduled for Saturday, October 27th.
• Steve Boster will have his bandsaw mill there to demonstrate cutting logs.
Steve, from Hurricane, WV, will also discuss and answer questions concerning
this process. Toward the end of the day, we will auction off the wood that
has been milled. There should be some interesting wood available for those
that are willing to bid. All of these proceeds go to the Valley Woodworkers of WV,
a nonprofit corporation.
• Steve Mickley will be there to discuss finishes and their proper application.
Steve is the host of WOOD magazine’s WOOD Online Finishing & Refinishing Forum
and is currently completing plans to open Hardwood Lumber & More… a large
full-service woodworking store in Cincinnati, Ohio. Steve has been a custom
furniture and cabinetmaker for many years. Follow his progress in opening the

• Jim Probst will be there to discuss furniture design. His shop is located
on Rt. 34 toward Hamlin, WV. Jim was voted "Best of Show" at the 2003
Fine Furnishings Providence Show by Fine Woodworking magazine and recently
recieved the first Tamarack Foundation Fellowship Award. His designs are sold
throughout the nation and can be seen on his website at www.probstfurniture.com
• Paul Adkins, from Scott Depot, WV, will be demonstrating carving.
His carvings have been shown at the Governor’s Mansion in WV and at the White House.
He will have some carving tools and show how he uses them. More of his work can

• Hank Sims, from Chesapeake, Ohio, will be demonstrating spindle turning on
the lathe. Hank is co-founder of the River Cities Woodworkers in Huntington, WV.
He will be using a small table top lathe, discussing lathe techniques and
answering questions.
